The driver picks you up from your accommodation and builds the route around what you actually want to see. If you've got eight hours, you hit all the main stops. The southern route takes you through Birgu, Cospicua, and Senglea first: the Three Cities, where narrow streets open onto Fort St. Angelo and the Inquisitor's Palace, and the waterfront at Senglea gives you the kind of view that makes sense why people settled here centuries ago. Then it's down to Marsaxlok, where the fishing boats are painted in primary colors and the market smells like salt and fresh catch. The Blue Grotto is next. The car is a Citroën C3 Aircross, compact enough to navigate the narrow village streets but comfortable for the longer stretches between sites. One thing to know: cars can't go into Valletta itself, so the driver drops you near the main attractions, St. John's Co-Cathedral, the Grand Master's Palace, and you walk from there.
