The experience
The day starts at Suraya Bani Jetty with registration and a 45-minute boat ride across clear water to Redang Island. From there, you move between seven snorkeling checkpoints, each chosen for a different reason: Sandbank offers shallow crystal-clear water ideal for photos; Long Beach suits confident swimmers who want deeper water and open ocean feel; Teluk Mat Delah is quiet and scenic; Marine Park is where you swim with turtles in calm, clear conditions; Teluk Dalam has shallow water and is where lunch happens; Pulau Paku and Pulau Lima show vibrant marine life; and Pasir Akar is the final session before the return boat ride.
All snorkeling gear is provided (mask, snorkel, life jacket and wetsuit options) along with seasickness medication if needed. The crew handles fish feeding and watches for turtles, though sightings depend on conditions. You get a waterproof phone casing to shoot your own photos, and the operator also provides complimentary photos and videos from the day. Lunch and drinking water are included. Bring your own towel or rent one.
Pickup is available from several resorts on Redang Island and from Merang and Laguna jetties if you're staying elsewhere. Free parking is available at the departure jetty. The full day runs about nine hours from registration to return, with the boat doing most of the travel between sites so you spend your energy in the water, not getting there.
