The experience
The defining feature here is the free-flight concept: you step into an enormous walk-in aviary where local and foreign species live together in a semi-natural environment. Unlike traditional bird parks where animals stay behind barriers, you move through the same space the birds occupy, watching them interact at close range. The park's four zones each mimic a different habitat, so the experience shifts as you move through, from open-air flight zones to the dedicated Hornbill Park to the mini aviaries housing flightless birds and other exotic species.
The tour includes the two main bird shows, which run daily at 12:30 pm and 3:30 pm. Between shows, you can watch feeding activities for lories, hornbills, eagles and ostriches, or spend time at the Education Station where egg incubation and baby chicks are on display. The Bird Gallery holds specimens, feathers, eggs, nests and skeletons. A photo booth lets you capture moments with the birds themselves. The park stays open 9 am to 6 pm daily, so the three to four hour tour fits comfortably into a morning or afternoon.
Hotel pickup and drop-off are included for locations within 5 km of the city center. You travel in an air-conditioned vehicle with an English-speaking driver who accompanies you throughout. Infants sit on an adult's lap, and children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. The park is suitable for all fitness levels, and public transportation options are nearby if you prefer to make your own way there.
