The experience

Hotel pickup starts the morning or evening, depending on which flight time you book. You'll travel to the launch site, where the pilot briefs you on safety and helps prepare the balloon. Then you ascend into the air for 45-60 minutes, watching Trakai's castle and the lakes spread out below as the pilot narrates what you're seeing. The height and angle let you see the layout of the town and the water in ways ground-level visits can't match.

After the pilot finds a safe landing spot, the ground crew helps pack the balloon. That's when the first-flight ceremony begins: you receive a glass of sparkling wine and a baptism marking your entry into the balloon-flying world. The whole experience, from pickup to drop-off back at your hotel, takes about three hours.

The flight operates year-round, and families with children aged 7 and up can book together: children just need to be tall enough to board the basket (minimum 120 cm) and able to climb in on their own. Weight limit is 130 kg per person. A live English-speaking guide is on board throughout.
