You're standing at 750 meters above sea level in Ghosta, a village that doesn't look like it's about to launch you into the sky. The takeoff point is the highest in Lebanon, and your pilot—certified, insured, calm—is checking the wind. The flight itself lasts around 20 to 30 minutes, depending on the thermals and the day. You're not just going up and down—you're drifting over the green mountains, over Harissa and the white statue of Our Lady of Lebanon that sits on the ridge like a landmark you can actually see while you're flying. The Jounieh Bay opens below you, one of the most beautiful bays in the world, and it's not a phrase someone wrote for a website; it's what you see. Your pilot knows the thermals here.
