The experience
You control when the tour starts and what it includes. If you land in the afternoon and have four hours free, the guide builds a route around that. If you're staying a full day, you set the pace across five major stops: Pha That Luang, the golden national monument and sacred Buddhist pilgrimage site; Patuxai, Vientiane's victory monument with Lao-style carvings; Haw Phra Kaew, the former royal temple now a museum of Buddhist sculptures; Wat Sisaket, the oldest surviving temple in the city, lined with thousands of small Buddha images in wall niches; and the Presidential Palace, a blend of French colonial and Lao architecture viewable from the front. The guide tailors the order and time spent at each based on what interests you most.
The vehicle holds up to four passengers comfortably. Larger groups can arrange a bigger car for an additional charge. Pickup happens from your hotel, airport, train station or any other location you name in Vientiane, and drop-off is wherever you want to end. Bottled water, fuel, tolls and parking are included. A licensed local guide travels with you the entire time, speaking your language and explaining the history and religious significance behind each site. The tour runs between 10 and 12 hours depending on how many stops you choose and how long you linger.
This setup works especially well if you're on a short stopover, visiting Laos for business, or simply don't have a full week to spend. You're not locked into a fixed schedule or a set group of strangers. You move at your own pace, skip what doesn't appeal to you, and spend extra time at the temples or monuments that matter to you.

The guide handles navigation and all the stops, so you focus on what you want to see rather than finding your way around the city.
