You’ll join locals and fellow travelers for a pub crawl through three of Prizren’s bars, each with its own character. Enjoy a free drink at every stop, swap stories over music, and let your local guide handle the details while you just relax into the city’s nightlife vibe. You might leave with new friends — or at least some blurry photos to laugh about later.
It started with a guy named Arben waving us in from the sidewalk — not in that pushy way, just sort of grinning and holding the door open like he already knew we’d join. I was nervous (I always am before these things), but he handed me a shot of raki and said something in Albanian that made the whole table laugh. The first bar smelled like old wood and coffee grounds, which sounds weird but somehow works here. There were travelers from Poland and Turkey at our table, plus two locals who kept trying to teach us card games. I lost every round.
Our guide — she called herself Drita — didn’t rush us at all. “No need to hurry,” she said, “the music’s better when you stay awhile.” At the second place, there was this mural of a red fox behind the bar, and someone started playing Balkan pop on their phone. We swapped stories about getting lost in Kosovo (apparently everyone does). The free drink here was something fizzy and pink; I still have no clue what it was, but it tasted like summer candy. Someone spilled theirs on my sleeve and apologized about five times — honestly made me laugh more than anything.
The last bar was louder, with sticky floors and a bartender who looked like he’d been there since forever. Drita took a group photo (I look ridiculous in it) and then we all tried dancing — badly. By then I’d stopped worrying about my accent or whether I’d remember anyone’s name. Walking back through Prizren’s old streets at midnight, everything felt softer somehow. Maybe it was just the lights or maybe it was the raki kicking in, but yeah… I still think about that night sometimes.
