Your guide picks you up at 6:30 am and drives you to Nairobi National Park's main gate. The 5- to 6-hour game drive is built around spotting as much variety as possible: lions, rhinos, buffalo herds and other wildlife move through the park year-round. The pop-up roof on the van lets you stand and shoot photos or just watch without the windshield in the way. Because the park sits inside the city, you're doing a real safari without leaving Nairobi.

After the game drive, you head to the Giraffe Center for a close encounter with the Rothschild giraffes. The center runs a breeding program focused on saving this endangered subspecies from extinction.
