The experience
The tour starts the moment you land. Your host meets you at the airport and takes the Keisei Skyliner from Narita or the Tokyo Monorail from Haneda, so you skip the confusion of finding your way into the city. During the ride, you get your bearings and start talking through what you actually want to see. This is not a fixed route: Senso-ji Temple in Asakusa, Ueno Park, Shibuya's famous crossing, Harajuku's fashion district, Shinjuku's skyline. Your host knows all of them and will weave in whichever ones match what you told them on the personalization form.
Walking is the main way you move through Tokyo, with public transport filling the gaps between neighborhoods. Your host navigates the trains and streets, so you focus on what's in front of you instead of checking a map. Ueno Park offers a quiet start if you need to shake off the flight; Senso-ji's gate and the streets around it show you centuries-old Tokyo; Shibuya and Shinjuku let you feel the city's modern pulse. The route is yours to shape, and your host adjusts on the fly if something catches your eye or if you want to linger somewhere longer.
At the end, your host takes you back to the train terminal for your onward flight. The whole experience, from airport arrival to departure, runs either 6 or 8 hours depending on which option you booked. Food, drinks and attraction tickets are separate, and any local taxis or additional transport beyond the walking route cost extra, but those details get worked out with your host after you book.

Is this one for you?Book the 8-hour option if you want time to move between several neighborhoods and sit down somewhere. The 6-hour version works for a tighter layover where you want to see one or two key areas without rushing. Either way, you walk most of the day and use trains to jump between districts, so wear comfortable shoes and be ready to move at a steady pace.

Top questions
What languages is the guide in?
Live guide in English and Japanese.
Can children come?
Yes. Ticket types: Child (under 13).
Can I see Senso-ji Temple and still make it back to the airport in time for my flight?
Yes. Senso-ji Temple in Asakusa is one of the stops your host can include, and the itinerary is built around your flight time. Your host will plan the route so you have time to see what matters and still catch your onward flight, with the return train journey factored in.
What happens if I want to eat or visit a museum during the layover?
Food, drinks and museum or attraction tickets are not included and cost extra. Your host knows the neighborhoods and can recommend places to eat or suggest which museums fit your available time, and you pay for those separately.
What if I have 6 hours between flights instead of 8? Can I still do this tour?
Yes. The tour comes in both a 6-hour and an 8-hour option. The 6-hour version fits a tighter layover. Your host will focus on fewer neighborhoods but still give you a real sense of Tokyo instead of just sitting in the airport.
How does the personalization form work, and when do I fill it out?
After you book, your host sends you a short online form asking about your interests, whether you love history, food, hidden gems, or just want to walk and absorb the atmosphere. Your host uses your answers to design a custom itinerary before you arrive, so the day is already shaped around what you want to see.
