Step-by-step itinerary
Ski tour at Nagano resorts
- Arrive at selected ski resort
- Receive and activate lift passes
- Unload equipment from bus
- Get information from staff
- Attend ski lessons if booked
- Enjoy skiing or snowboarding
The experience
The package solves the logistics problem: you arrive at Nagano Station and a staff member handles the route to whichever resort has the best conditions that morning, typically Shiga Kogen or another of the region's eighty-plus options. Transport, lift pass activation, and equipment distribution happen on arrival. If you booked a lesson, the staff member walks you to the ski school reception. Otherwise you head straight to the slopes. Everything you need to ski or snowboard is packed into the rental: skis or a snowboard, poles, boots, helmet, goggles, gloves, and top and bottom wear.
The day runs roughly 10 hours from pickup to return. Nagano sits within easy reach of Tokyo and its airports, making this a genuine day trip option or a single-day add-on to a longer Japan itinerary. You choose between four options at checkout: ski or snowboard, and with or without a 2-hour lesson. The staff member stays on-site to answer questions, but the slopes themselves are yours to explore at your own pace once you're geared up.

Is this one for you?Book with a lesson if you're new to skiing or snowboarding and want guided instruction. The resort assignment based on daily snow conditions means you're always chasing the best terrain, not a fixed location.

Top questions
Can children come?
Yes. Ticket types: Child (6 to 12 years). Children under 6 can't be included in the booking.
What happens if it rains?
It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.
Can I book a lesson, or do I have to ski on my own?
Lessons are optional and depend on which package you choose at checkout. The Ski A and Snowboard A options include a 2-hour lesson with instruction. Ski B and Snowboard B do not. Either way, the staff member is there to help if you have questions on the mountain.
How does the resort get chosen if there are eighty ski areas in Nagano?
The staff member picks the resort based on snow conditions the morning of your trip, so you get the best powder and terrain available that day. You won't know which resort until closer to your departure, but the lift pass and all transport are already arranged for wherever that is.
What if I've never skied or snowboarded before?
First-timers are welcome. Book one of the lesson options (Ski A or Snowboard A) to get instruction, or come without a lesson if you prefer to learn on your own. The rental gear covers everything, and the staff member can point out what you need to know to get started.
Is lunch included in the package?
Lunch is not included, but public transportation options are available near the resort, so you can grab food on the mountain or nearby if you need it.
What's the minimum age to join?
Children are welcome from age 6. The package works for families as well as solo travelers and groups.
