The experience
Hanami-koji and Ishibekoji are narrow lanes most visitors walk past without stopping. On this tour, you stop in them. The photographer knows which corners catch the light, which doorways frame a portrait, and where the foot traffic thins enough to set up a shot. You'll move through these streets and into Yasuikonpira Shrine and Maruyama Park (the route takes about 90 minutes) pausing at each spot while the guide positions you, suggests angles, and shoots. If you have your own ideas about how you want to look, say them. The guide works with your preference as well as their own eye.
The group stays at a maximum of six people, so you'll wait a few minutes while the photographer works with other travelers one by one. That wait is built into the pace. After the tour ends, the guide sends you around 50 edited photos by email on the same day or the next. Beyond the photos, the guide also shares tips about local food, cultural details, and how to spend the rest of your time in Kyoto well.
