The experience
The ziplining section starts after pickup from your hotel, when you're driven into Jamaica's rainforest to meet your guide. You'll get a safety briefing and learn the techniques before being fitted for a harness and helmet. Then you climb to the first platform and launch across springs and a 150-year-old dam, reaching speeds up to 35 miles per hour. Each line has its own name (limestone Cliff, Threesome Stop, and the highlight, the 1000-foot Inter Parish Express), and you'll hear the rushing water below as you move between platforms. Your guide talks through the ecosystems and history as you traverse.
After ziplining, you're taken to Dunn's River Falls, where a trained guide leads you up the cascades. The water splashes against your body as you climb the most-visited waterfall in the world, starting at the base where it meets the Caribbean Sea. The horseback riding follows, beginning in the rainforest on a trail, then moving through a river and partway into the ocean so you can ride in the warm water and get photos from the saddle. The scenery shifts from dense green to open sea as you go.
The whole experience runs three to four hours. You travel in an air-conditioned vehicle with a private round-trip pickup, and bottled water is provided throughout. The guide speaks English and leads all three activities. Children from age three are welcome, and the tour is suitable for all fitness levels, though you'll be climbing, riding and moving between platforms.
What’s included
- Private round-trip transportation in an air-conditioned vehicle.
