The tubing itself takes 45 minutes on clear water with trees lining both sides of the river. You float downriver on a tube with your guide, moving at the pace of the current rather than a set schedule. After tubing, the tour moves to a high viewpoint overlooking Ocho Rios town, the hotels and the cruise ships anchored offshore. You can photograph the view from there. A drive-through of Ocho Rios town follows, passing the clock tower and business district without stopping. If you choose the optional stop, you can try Jamaican beef patties (flaky pastries filled with seasoned beef), chicken patties or cheese patties. You pay for any food you order.

Private transportation means you travel in an air-conditioned Hino Coaster bus with your own driver and guide, not in a shared van. Hotel pickup is included, and the tubing entry fee is built into the price. Bring your own towel for the river.
