The experience
The day starts at Lethe Village, where you board a 30-foot handcrafted bamboo raft for a guided float down the Great River. Your captain navigates the tranquil water while you take in the hills and the cool river breeze. Part way through, the captain applies a limestone paste foot treatment derived from river rocks. A natural exfoliation locals call "jungle socks." The raft ride sets the pace for what comes next: unhurried, in the water, with someone who knows the route.
From there you transfer to a catamaran designed for sailing the Montego Bay coastline. The boat has front nets where you can lie in the sun, and it stops at a reef in Montego Bay Marine Park and Harbor for snorkeling among the exotic marine life. Entry to the water is by a forward stairway that lowers into the sea, so getting in and out is straightforward. After you surface, the bar opens, reggae and soca fill the air, and the crew serves appetizers and unlimited exotic cocktails.
The final stop is Margaritaville, the famous beach club where the party continues with waterslides, water toys, and the latest Jamaican dance moves taught by the crew. Before the return to your starting point, the ladies on board receive a soothing foot massage. You'll need to choose one of three options at checkout: the full Bamboo Rafting & Catamaran Party Boat experience, the Catamaran & Snorkeling only, or Bamboo Rafting only. Morning catamaran rides include children. Afternoon rides are adults only. Private transportation is included, and the activity suits all fitness levels, though it is not recommended for pregnant travelers.
