The experience

The tour runs eight to twelve hours and moves through four stops, each one built around something you actually do rather than just look at. Somerset Falls opens with a scenic boat ride into a limestone cave where water cascades around you. You swim and jump in the cool water inside. Blue Lagoon sits in a quiet pocket of the island where the water stays warm and mineral-rich, and the only sound is what you bring to it. Boston Beach has beginner waves if you want to try surfing, or you can swim in the shallows and sit on the sand without any pressure to move.

The last stop is Boston Jerk, the neighborhood where jerk cooking started. You order and eat there (jerk chicken, pork, lobster, conch, fried or steamed fish, roasted breadfruit, festival, sweet potato, fried plantains) all cooked by locals over open flames. Food is not included in the tour price, so you pay for what you eat. The guide stays with you the whole day, knows the sites and the vendors, and keeps the pace flexible. You travel in an air-conditioned vehicle with a minimum of two people per booking. Pickup is included.
