Jamaica Bobsled & Dunn's River Falls Tour from Runaway Bay
Ride the bobsled, then climb the waterfall
This six-hour tour from Runaway Bay combines two St. Ann attractions: a bobsled ride up the Ocho Rios hillside on the Sky Explorer chairlift, then entry to Dunn's River Falls with a trained guide who leads groups through a safety briefing before the climb. Hotel or port pickup and drop-off are included, and a boardwalk lets anyone skip the water climb and photograph from the side. Live English-speaking guide throughout.

Step-by-step itinerary
Bobsled ride and Dunn's River Falls
- Meet guide and secure in Sky Explorer
- Ride skylift to bobsled starting point
- Enter Dunn's River Falls park
- Attend safety and introductory session
- Climb Dunn's River Falls with guide
- Photograph from boardwalk if not climbing
The experience
Your guide meets you at pickup and takes you to the bobsled starting point via the Sky Explorer chairlift, which carries you above the Ocho Rios treetops. Once at the top, you ride the bobsled course itself: the same track inspired by Jamaica's Olympic team. The chairlift ride alone gives you a view of the parish most visitors miss.
After the bobsled, you head to Dunn's River Falls with your pre-purchased park entry already arranged. A trained guide conducts a brief safety session, then leads your group up the tiered limestone formations. The water is cool and the climb is steady but not technical. The boardwalk that runs alongside means anyone who wants to sit out the climb can still photograph the group and stay part of the day. Wear swimwear under your clothes and bring water shoes. The rocks are slippery.
The whole outing runs six hours from pickup to drop-off at your hotel or port in Runaway Bay. Air-conditioned transport moves between the two sites, so you're not walking in the heat between attractions.

Top questions
Can children come?
Yes. Ticket types: Child (4 to 12 years). Under 4: they can't be included in the booking.
What happens if it rains?
It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.
Can I skip climbing Dunn's River Falls and just watch from the boardwalk?
Yes. The boardwalk runs alongside the falls and gives you a full view and photo access even if you don't climb. Your guide will explain the route and you can choose what suits you on the day.
What's the bobsled ride actually like?
You ride the Sky Explorer chairlift up to the bobsled course, then ride the bobsled itself down the track. The chairlift gives you views over Ocho Rios and the treetops. The bobsled is the main event and the reason the tour is built around it.
Do I need to be a strong swimmer or climber?
The climb up Dunn's River is a series of short steps between pools, and a trained guide leads your group through it. The water is shallow in most spots. A minimum height of 46 inches is required for the bobsled. The falls themselves suit most fitness levels, though the tour is not recommended for travelers with spinal injuries, back problems or poor cardiovascular health.
What should I bring?
Wear swimwear under your clothes and bring water shoes. The limestone is slippery when wet. Bring a towel. The dress code is smart casual, and you'll want to protect your phone and camera from the water.
What's included in the price?
Hotel or port pickup and drop-off, the Sky Explorer chairlift ride, the bobsled ride, entry to Dunn's River Falls park, a trained guide at the falls, and all local government taxes are included. Meals and drinks are not. Gratuity is optional.
