Your driver picks you up at your hotel lobby and drives the coastline to Dunn's River Falls, where you climb the natural limestone cascade and swim in the pools between tiers. The waterfall is the main draw. A series of steps formed by mineral-rich water that has built up the rock face over time, and the climb itself is the activity: you move at your own pace up the terraces, swimming where you want to stop.
After Dunn's River, you head to Luminous Lagoon (also called Glistening Waters), where a boat takes you out onto water that glows when disturbed. The phosphorescent phytoplankton react to movement, so swimming is optional but most travelers jump in to see the effect around their own bodies and hands. The boat ride lasts about 30 minutes. Both entry fees and transport are included. Bring cash for any food or drinks you want beyond what's on the boat, a change of clothes, sunblock, and a camera for the water shots.
