The experience

The tour starts with hotel pickup and a scenic drive to Appleton Estate, the historic distillery on Jamaica's South Coast where Appleton Rum has been made since 1749. Your guide walks you through how the rum is produced (from the growth of sugar cane through fermentation, distillation and blending), and explains what makes Appleton's process distinctive. You'll taste freshly pressed sugar cane juice and "wet sugar" during the tour, then move to the tasting room.

The tasting itself covers 10 different Jamaican rums, so you get a sense of the range Appleton produces and how age and blending change the flavor. There's a photo stop at the large Appleton VX sign where you can capture the moment. A Jamaican lunch is included, and the whole experience is paced so you're not rushed through any part of it.

You'll need to pick your pickup location at checkout. The tour departs from Grand Palladium, Montego Bay, Negril, or Falmouth/Trelawny, and the driver brings you back to the same spot at the end of the day.
