The experience
Five to six hours on a Vespa 125 means you set the rhythm yourself. After a briefing in Bevagna on how to use the RoadBook (a self-guided route that syncs with Google Maps on your phone), you ride toward Spello, a medieval village famous for flower-draped stone streets and Roman remains. The route climbs through olive groves, villages and woods of Monte Subasio Regional Park, where the landscape opens into green spaces and quiet roads. This is where you stop for lunch: either a picnic basket with local products and water in the park itself, or a sit-down meal, depending on which option you chose at checkout.
The Vespa is a 125cc latest-generation model with ABS, shared between two riders, so one person drives while the other navigates or simply rides. You wear approved ECE helmets and carry a mobile phone holder to keep the map visible. If rain comes, you have a Kway to throw on. The route is yours to follow at your own pace using the RoadBook. You are not herded through stops on a fixed schedule. RC insurance covers the scooter, and the whole loop ends in Assisi, the UNESCO-listed city built around the Basilica of St. Francis, before you head back down to Bevagna.
Minimum requirement is prior scooter or motorcycle experience. This is not a learn-to-ride tour. Children from age six can join as passengers. Public transport runs nearby if you want an alternative way back, though the tour includes your return.
