Step-by-step itinerary

Day 1 — Photoshoot in Rialto and San Marco

  • Begin photoshoot in Rialto area
  • Capture posed and candid shots
  • Visit specific locations near Rialto
  • Proceed to San Marco area photoshoot
  • Share stories about each location
  • Receive high-resolution photos online

I didn’t expect to feel so awkward at first — I mean, standing by the Rialto Bridge while strangers walk past, pretending not to stare. But our photographer (I think his name was Matteo?) just grinned and told me to relax, “Venice is full of cameras anyway.” He was right. The canal smelled faintly like wet stone and espresso from somewhere nearby, and honestly, I started to forget about everyone else after a few minutes. The click of his Sony camera felt almost calming after a while.

We wandered through these narrow alleys between the Rialto and San Marco areas — some corners were busy with tourists, others suddenly quiet except for footsteps echoing off old walls. Matteo kept pointing out little details: a faded fresco above a shop, the way the light hit the water under a certain bridge. He had stories for everything. At one point he tried to teach me how to say “sestiere” properly (I probably still butcher it). I liked that he didn’t rush us — sometimes we’d stop just because the light looked good on some peeling paint or because a gondola drifted by at the perfect moment.

By the end I wasn’t even thinking about posing anymore. There’s this one shot he took where I’m laughing at something dumb I said — you can see the basilica dome in the background and my hair’s all over my face from the wind. It’s not perfect but it’s real, you know? Later that evening he sent me a link with all these high-res photos (way more than I expected), each one kind of like its own memory from that day. I keep looking back at them now when I miss Venice.
