The experience

The boat leaves Tropea's port heading south, first stopping beneath the Madonna dell'Isola church before reaching the Blue Grotto, where the water is clear enough to see the seafloor. A snorkeling guide accompanies you into the water here and at Riaci Bay later in the tour, so you can explore the underwater landscape with a mask and tube rather than just looking from the boat.

Continuing down the coast, you'll pass Formicoli, a Roman port now submerged, where snorkeling lets you see its ancient remains. The tour reaches Capo Vaticano's lighthouse and the white-sand beaches of Praia i Focu, which are only accessible by boat. On the return toward Tropea, the final stop is Riaci Bay, where you snorkel again among the ravines carved into the enormous rock formation. After the water stops, an aperitif (prosecco and cold tea with snacks), is served on board as you head back to port.
