The experience

The boat leaves Trapani and passes the Colombaia castle before reaching Favignana, where the first stop is one of the island's most beautiful beaches. The seabed is turquoise and shallow enough to see the fish moving below you. The second stop sits at the old tuff quarries, the symbolic heart of Favignana, where you can snorkel among the stone cliffs that rise from the water. A third beach follows, described as one of Italy's most beautiful, with uncontaminated waters and no crowds. After three swims, the boat pulls into Favignana town so you can walk the streets, eat at a restaurant (kebab with tuna or pistachio coffee are local dishes), and rest on land before heading back out.

Levanzo, the smallest and wildest of the three islands, is next. The water changes color and the landscape shifts, but the clarity stays the same. You swim twice more here: once at Aquinata beach near the village, and once at Cala Minnola, a cove so untouched that marine pines grow down to the sand. The boat returns to Trapani after the final stop. Snorkeling equipment is on board. Soda and bottled water are included. The maximum group size is 12 people, so there is room to spread out in the sun or shade.

The skipper speaks English or Italian and has one stated goal: to make his guests happy. No experience is necessary. The key is to have fun and spend a relaxing day in the water. If you suffer from seasickness, the operator suggests a dry breakfast, possibly salty, before boarding.

What’s included

  • Snorkeling equipment.
  • bottled water and soda.
  • a live guide in English or Italian.
  • all fees and taxes.
