Maddalena Archipelago: Catamaran Tour & Pink Beach Snorkel
A catamaran leaves the pier at Cannigione each morning headed for islands most people only see in photographs.
You board a catamaran at Cannigione and spend the day anchored in three of the Maddalena Archipelago's most protected bays, snorkelling at Spargi, viewing the Pink Beach from the water, and swimming in the Port of the Madonna lagoon. Lunch, snorkelling equipment, and all drinks are included; the boat returns to port by late afternoon.

The Experience
The boat is already moving by the time you settle into your seat—a 13-metre Lagoon catamaran built for comfort, not speed, which means the ride out to Spargi takes about an hour and the whole day unfolds without rush. You're heading to the Maddalena Archipelago, a protected marine park off the north coast of Sardinia, and the first stop is Spargi, where the water sits so clear you can see the sand ten metres down. The crew drops anchor in one of the bays and hands out snorkelling gear. The water is turquoise in a way that doesn't look real until you're in it.
After Spargi, the catamaran moves north toward Budelli and the Pink Beach—the one you've probably seen in travel photos, the one that looks digitally altered but isn't. You won't swim here; the beach is protected, part of the Geomarine National Park, and the rules exist because the place is fragile. The captain positions the boat so you can photograph it, and the granite rocks around the cove catch the light in a way that makes the pink sand look even more impossible. Then it's on to the Port of the Madonna, the lagoon between Budelli, Razzoli and Santa Maria—a natural swimming pool with white-sand coves and water so still it mirrors the sky. Some areas are open for snorkelling, others are closed to protect what's there. You'll have time to swim, drift, and let the scale of it sink in.
Lunch comes onboard around midday: fish-based pasta and typical Sardinian products, eaten at the table while the boat sits anchored. Coffee and tea afterward. The catamaran carries bottled water, sodas, and wine—all included. If you have food intolerances or need vegetarian options, you can bring a packed lunch instead; the boat's kitchen can't manage special requests. The return to Cannigione takes about an hour and a half, and you'll arrive back at the CNA pier in Laconia in the late afternoon. The itinerary can shift if weather turns rough—the captain decides based on conditions—but the main islands and stops are standard.
