The experience
You start from either a hotel pickup or a meeting point near Rome Termini, then climb onto a Vespa behind your guide. The ride itself is the route: you cruise past the Colosseum's massive stone exterior, where gladiator battles once drew crowds, then swing through the Roman Forum. A thousand-year stage where emperors' power played out in stone. The Circus Maximus, Rome's largest ancient racecourse, comes next, its scale visible even at night.
From there you climb to Janiculum Hill, one of Rome's highest points, where the city spreads beneath you and the skyline glows against the dark. The Fontana dell'Acqua Paola rises nearby, a masterpiece of ancient water engineering lit up in the evening. Then you head toward the Vatican, where the dome of St. Peter's and the Sistine Chapel glow under night lighting. The Pantheon, the temple for all gods, transforms under golden light, and you stop at Trevi Fountain, where you can toss a coin into the water and hear the stories behind the legend. Spanish Steps close out the ride.
A photographer travels with the tour and captures moments throughout the 90 minutes. Your guide speaks one of several languages (English, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian and others), and knows Rome by heart, weaving the city's intrigues and grandeur into each stop. You wear a helmet and ride as a passenger. The guide handles the Vespa.
