The experience
Quirinal Palace opens the tour: a 110,500-square-meter residence of Italian presidents since 1955, designed by Bernini and other masters. From there the route moves through Trajan's Market and the Roman Forum, where temples, basilicas and the Via Sacra sit among archaeological ruins that tell the story of ancient Rome's political and commercial center. The Colosseum appears next, viewed from the outside. Entrance tickets are separate. A guide walks you through the history of the amphitheater and the gladiatorial contests it once held.
The golf cart's real advantage is access. Narrow cobblestone streets in neighborhoods like Campo Marzio (the ancient military exercise ground now home to the Pantheon, Piazza di Spagna, and luxury shopping) stay closed to standard tour buses. You reach the Temple of Hadrian with its 15-meter Corinthian columns, the Column of Marcus Aurelius carved with scenes of war against Germanic tribes, and the Pincio Terrace overlooking Piazza del Popolo and the dome of St. Peter's. The Pantheon, built by Agrippa and dedicated to all the gods, appears on the route. Interior entry is optional and ticketed separately. Trevi Fountain, completed in 1735, closes the loop.
Hotel pickup and drop-off are included, and the three-hour window covers both the guided stops and travel time. On hot days you get a free half-liter bottle of water. WiFi runs on board. Artisanal gelato is served to all participants. Winter months bring transparent covers and warm fleece blankets to keep you comfortable in the open cart.

Top questions
What languages is the tour guided in?
Live guide in English, Spanish, Italian and Portuguese.
Can children come?
Yes. Ticket types: Youth (12 to 16 years); Child (2 to 11 years); Infant (under 2).
What happens if it rains?
It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.
What is the Quirinal Palace and why does the tour start there?
Quirinal Palace is the official residence of the Italian president since 1955, a 110,500-square-meter complex designed by Bernini and other Renaissance masters. The tour opens there to establish Rome's modern seat of power before moving into the ancient sites.
Can I go inside the Colosseum and Pantheon on this tour?
The Colosseum is viewed from the outside only. A guide explains its history and the gladiatorial contests it hosted, but interior entry is not included and tickets cost from 40 euros separately. The Pantheon also appears on the route as an exterior stop. Interior tickets are 7 euros and purchased separately if you choose to enter.
Why does a golf cart reach places a regular tour bus cannot?
Rome's narrow cobblestone streets in neighborhoods like Campo Marzio and around Piazza di Spagna are too tight for standard tour buses. The golf cart's small footprint lets you access these lanes and the sites they connect (the Temple of Hadrian, the Pincio Terrace, and the surrounding historic center) without backtracking or walking long distances.
Is gelato really included, or is that just marketing?
Artisanal Italian gelato is included for all participants as part of the tour price. On the hottest days you also receive a free half-liter bottle of water.
