The experience
You start from your hotel in Rome's center (or from the Rolling Rome office at Piazza del Gesù 47 if that's easier), then roll out in a six-seat golf cart with your guide to chase the flavors that define the city. The morning kicks off with a Roman breakfast (a flaky pastry and Italian coffee made however you like it) before the cart carries you toward the Portico of Octavia to sample centuries-old Roman pizza and fried specialties. From there you swing through a local fresh market and into one of Rome's oldest delis for cold cuts, artisanal cheeses and porchetta, all paired with crisp local wine.
The route threads through neighborhoods (Trastevere, the area around Termini) stopping at named spots like Enoteca Corsi for pasta and wine, then circling back for award-winning gelato to close the loop. Because you're moving by cart instead of on foot, you cover ground that would take hours to walk, and you arrive at each tasting fresh rather than tired. The guide handles the route and the stories behind what you're eating. You just taste and move on. Rain or shine, the carts run with covers for wet weather, and the whole thing takes between four and seven hours depending on how long you linger at each stop.
The tour runs private, so it's just your group in the cart. Hotel pickup and drop-off are included if you're staying in the historical center, and all the tastings, wine pairings and taxes are built into the price. Pregnant travelers are welcome. Just mention it when you book. The cart seats up to six, with four seats facing forward and two facing backward, and it's street-legal with seat belts and side protection.

Top questions
Can children come?
Yes. Ticket types: Infant (under 3).
What neighborhoods does the golf cart route actually cover?
The route moves through Trastevere, the area around Rome Termini, and the Portico of Octavia, stopping at specific spots like a fresh market, Enoteca Corsi for pasta and wine, and a centuries-old deli for cold cuts and cheese. The exact path depends on where your hotel is and which stops the guide prioritizes that day.
Can the tour handle dietary restrictions?
The tour cannot accommodate vegan or celiac and gluten-free diets, and it cannot guarantee safety for guests with severe food allergies because local kitchens cannot rule out cross-contamination. A vegetarian option is available if you let the operator know at booking.
How does hotel pickup work if I'm staying outside the center?
Hotel pickup is included only for hotels in Rome's historical center. If you're outside that zone, you can meet the tour at the Rolling Rome office at Piazza del Gesù 47, or contact the operator to check if your specific location qualifies.
What if the weather turns bad during the tour?
The tour runs rain or shine. All golf carts are equipped with rain covers, so you stay dry while moving between tastings.
