The Experience
Early morning, the air around the Colosseum feels cool and a little damp—there’s that faint scent of espresso drifting from a nearby kiosk. Our photographer waved us over, already scouting the best angles to catch that soft Roman light. I never realized how different the stone looks up close, especially when you’re standing right at its base and hearing bits of history from our guide. We wandered past clusters of street musicians and souvenir stalls as we made our way toward the ruins of the Imperial Forums.
