The experience
The ride starts in Ribiera's historic center and heads toward the castle of Poggio Diana, where the Verdura canyon opens up. From there, the route cuts into the hinterland on paths that only quad bikes can navigate: narrow tracks through the wildest terrain, across river fords and underpasses, then climbing up to the plateaus. The views shift as you gain elevation: first the canyon walls, then the inland ridges, and finally the coast spreading out below.
From a hill near the Verdura Golf Resort, the landscape stretches from the Saccensi coasts all the way to Eraclea Minoa. The route follows the evocative, wild coast of Piana Grande on the way back, so you see the shoreline from above before returning to headquarters. A live guide rides with you and speaks English, Italian, French or German, so navigation and context are handled. You choose between riding solo or with one passenger on the quad.
The whole outing runs three hours. Soda and pop are included. Public transportation stops are nearby if you need them to reach the starting point.
