The experience
You arrive at a Cesarina's home in Viareggio and spend three hours learning to cook two pasta dishes and tiramisu from the ground up. The Cesarina (a member of Italy's network of home cooks across more than 120 cities) teaches you the family techniques for these regional classics, walking you through each step in her own kitchen. This is hands-on: you're making the pasta dough, shaping it, layering the tiramisu, doing the work yourself rather than watching a demonstration.
Once you've finished cooking, you sit down to taste everything you've made, paired with local wines, water and coffee. The meal is either lunch or dinner depending on which option you choose at checkout. The Cesarina treats you like family, not like a class in a commercial kitchen: her home is the classroom, and the cooking secrets stay personal.
You'll wear an official Cesarine apron during the class. Public transportation runs nearby if you need it to reach the home. The experience works for families with children of any age, so you can bring kids along and have them cook alongside you.
