She hands you the return train tickets and walks you to the platform. The local train takes 45 minutes to Pompeii Scavi station: no traffic, no parking, no navigating the site entrance alone. The ride is included in the price, as is entry to the archaeological site itself, so you arrive ready to walk.

Your guide, a local archaeologist, takes you through the main public monuments and the most famous houses of Pompeii for 2 hours. The roads are uneven Roman cobblestone, so wear comfortable shoes. Listening devices are provided free from Sorrento, tuned to English only, and you return them to the guide at the end.
