Cook pizza and tiramisu the way Italian families do, then sit down to eat what you made.

A private hands-on cooking class in a Turin home where you learn to make pizza and tiramisu from a Cesarina: a local home cook trained in traditional family recipes. You'll work through both dishes from scratch, then taste your creations at lunch or dinner with local wine. The class runs three hours and suits families with children of any age.

The experience

You'll arrive at a Cesarina's home in Turin and spend the afternoon learning two iconic Italian dishes. The host teaches you how to make pizza dough, shape it, and bake it the way Italian nonnas do at home, not the restaurant version, but the real family method. Then you move on to tiramisu, building the layers and flavors from scratch. Both are hands-on: you're doing the work, not watching a demonstration.

Once everything is ready, you sit down together to eat what you've made. A selection of local wine comes with the meal, and water and coffee round it out. The whole experience runs about three hours, which gives you time to cook without rushing and still have a proper meal at the end. This is a private class, so it's just you and whoever you bring: no strangers, no group dynamic to manage.

Le Cesarine hosts operate across Italy in over 120 cities, and they're trained to welcome travelers into their homes as part of the family. The class works for families with children of any age, so you can bring kids and they'll learn alongside you. Public transportation options are nearby if you need them to get there.

What’s included

  • Private hands-on instruction in pizza and tiramisu making.
  • tasting of both dishes you've prepared.
  • local wine, water, and coffee.
  • the meal itself at the Cesarina's table.
