Tandem paragliding at Kronplatz pairs you with a pilot who has over 20 years of flight experience for a 20-minute flight from Plan de Corones down to the valley station. You'll rise 1,300 meters over the Pusteria Valley, the Dolomites and the Alps, then descend to the landing site near Bruneck. The whole experience takes about an hour, and children from age 4 are welcome.

The experience

Plan de Corones sits at 2,275 meters and offers the launch point for this tandem flight. You'll ride the Kronplatz cable car up to the summit (cable car ticket is separate), where your pilot will fit you into a harness and helmet. The two of you take off together, and for the next 20 minutes you're airborne over the Pusteria Valley, watching the Dolomites and the Alps unfold below. There's no steering required on your part (the pilot handles all of it), so you're free to take in the view and feel the thermals that keep you aloft.

The flight descends to the landing site at the valley station near Bruneck, where the experience ends. After you land, the office offers high-quality film and photos from the flight, which can be copied directly to your smartphone for an additional fee. A guide speaks English, Italian or German throughout, and the whole outing (cable car ride, flight and landing) runs about an hour.
