The experience

Your guide meets you at the Neptune Fountain and walks you through the heart of Naples without needing a car or advance planning of stops. The route covers two hours on foot, moving between the medieval Castel Nuovo (built during French rule and enlarged under Spanish control), and the neoclassical Piazza Plebiscito, where the Basilica of San Francesco di Paola mirrors the Pantheon's proportions and the Royal Palace anchors the square's far side. You'll pass through the Galleria Umberto I, an iron-and-glass arcade in Italian liberty style, before heading into the older grid of the city.

Spaccanapoli is the ancient decumanus, a street that cuts straight through Naples' oldest neighborhoods and carries the weight of centuries in its narrow passage. Your guide leads the way and tells the legends and stories the street holds. From there, San Gregorio Armeno Street opens into something entirely different: workshops where artisans build nativity figures in bright paint and traditional dress, filling the street with color and music.
