Wine Tasting Milan: 3 Italian Wines with Sommelier
Savor local delicacies paired perfectly with Italy’s finest vintages in Milan
A 1.5-hour wine tasting in an elegant traditional wine bar in central Milan where you taste three important Italian wines—red, white and sparkling—paired with local appetizers and bread, guided by a professional sommelier who explains how each wine is made and how to match it with food. The experience runs three times a week and includes water and wine; minimum age is 18.
The Experience
The sommelier starts by pouring a sample of red, then white, then sparkling wine—three of Italy's most recognized bottles—and walks you through what makes each one distinct. You'll learn how the wines are made, what gives them their character, and how to pair them with the delicacies the chef has prepared from local products. The whole arc takes 1.5 hours, which is long enough to sit with each wine and ask questions, but short enough to fit into an evening without dominating it.
Appetizers and bread arrive alongside the tastings, designed to complement what's in your glass. Water is served throughout. The wine bar itself is traditional and elegant—the kind of place where the sommelier knows the stock and the room feels unhurried. You're in a small group, so there's room to talk without shouting, and the sommelier can adjust the pace to what the group wants to know.
The experience runs three times a week at set times. You'll need to arrange your own way there—the wine bar is in Milan's city center with public transportation nearby—but once you arrive, everything is set: the wines are chosen, the food is ready, and the sommelier is waiting to explain them.
