The experience
The catamaran leaves Cannigione and heads into the Magdalene Archipelago, a protected marine park where the water stays so clear you can see the seabed. Your first real stop is Spargi, where you slip into the water to snorkel among white sand beaches and granite formations. The visibility here is what makes the stop worth the time. You're swimming in water so transparent it barely looks like water at all. The boat carries masks, mouthpieces and a paddle board if you want to stay on the surface instead.
From Spargi, the boat moves to Budelli, where you won't swim but will photograph the Pink Beach: the coral-colored sand that Michelangelo Antonioni filmed in "Red Desert" and that sits inside a geomarine national park under special protection. The beach itself is off-limits to walking and swimming to preserve it, but the view from the water is the whole point. Then comes Porto della Madonna, a natural pool of crystal-clear water ringed by white sand coves, where some spots allow swimming and others stay protected. The skipper knows which ones and adjusts the stops based on the weather and sea conditions that day.
Lunch arrives on board: traditional Sardinian food with vermentino wine, beer, myrtle liqueur and prosecco. Coffee and tea follow. The boat carries soda, bottled water and a Sardinian aperitif as well. If you have food intolerances or allergies, the operator recommends bringing a packet lunch instead, as special diets can't be managed on the water. The tour runs about seven and a half hours, and children of any age can come: infants sit on an adult's lap, and strollers are fine for the boat itself.

Is this one for you?Book this tour if you want to swim and snorkel in clear water at a named island stop (Spargi is where you get in the water) rather than a boat that only passes scenic spots. The small group size and skipper's flexibility with the route mean the day adjusts to conditions and your pace, not a fixed schedule.

Top questions
What languages is the tour guided in?
Live guide in English, Spanish and Italian.
Can children come?
Yes. Ticket types: Child (3 to 10 years); Infant (under 3).
What is the Pink Beach and why can't you swim there?
The Pink Beach of Budelli is a coral-colored sand beach inside the Maddalena Geomarine National Park, famous for its unique color and the chromatic intensity of the surrounding sea and granite. It's protected by law, so swimming and walking on the sand are forbidden to preserve this natural monument. You photograph it from the boat instead.
Can I snorkel on this tour, and what equipment do I need?
Yes, snorkeling happens at Spargi, where the water is transparent enough to see the seabed. The boat provides masks, mouthpieces and a paddle board. You bring your own snorkel gear if you prefer, or rent it elsewhere before boarding.
What happens if the weather is bad on the day of my tour?
The skipper adjusts the itinerary according to weather conditions to ensure safe navigation. The stops and route may change, but the tour still operates unless conditions make it unsafe to sail.
Is lunch included, and what if I have dietary restrictions?
Lunch is included on board with Sardinian cuisine, wine, beer and local spirits. If you have food intolerances or allergies, the operator cannot manage special diets on the boat, so you're asked to bring a packet lunch instead. Vegetarian and no-fish options are available if you arrange ahead.
How many people travel on the catamaran?
The group stays under 12 people per boat, so it's small enough that the skipper can tailor the day to the group's pace and interests.
