The experience
You meet your tour leader at the Morandi & Veditalia bus stop in Milan in the morning and travel by air-conditioned coach to Como. A guided walk through the historic center orients you to the town, then you have free time to browse the boutiques, sit at a café, or simply wander the streets. The real centerpiece is the boat: you board for a one-hour cruise across Lake Como, watching villas and mountains rise from the water as you drift toward Bellagio.
Bellagio sits at the point where two arms of the lake meet, and the tour leader shows you its most recognizable spots before releasing you to explore on your own: time enough for lunch, shopping, or a walk along the waterfront. After that, a short boat ride takes you back to the mainland, where you board the bus again for the crossing into Switzerland. Lugano is the final stop: another guided walk through the city center, then free time to relax by the lakeside, browse the luxury shops, or taste Swiss chocolate before the return drive to Milan.
The tour runs nine hours door to door. Wi-Fi works on both the boat and the bus, and the coach is air-conditioned. A passport is required to cross into Switzerland. Lunch is not included in the price, so you'll eat on your own in Bellagio or Lugano.
