The experience

The tour starts with pickup from your hotel or the Livorno port, then drives you to Florence. Once there, a local guide leads a two-hour walk through the city center, taking you past Ponte Vecchio (the oldest bridge), Piazza della Signoria (the political heart of the city), and the exteriors of the Duomo, Baptistery and Giotto's Bell Tower. Because this is a private tour, your guide can adjust the route and pace to match what interests you most.

After Florence, you drive to Pisa to explore the Square of Miracles on your own. The Leaning Tower and the cathedral sit in this single plaza, and you can walk around the grounds and take photos. If you want to go inside the tower or see the cathedral's interior, those tickets are available as optional add-ons and can be arranged in advance through the operator. The same applies to Florence's museums: entry to see Michelangelo's David at the Accademia Gallery is optional and must be booked separately (note that the gallery closes on Mondays).

The full day is eight hours from start to finish. Private transportation is included throughout, and your guide speaks English, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian and several other languages. Children under 8 cannot enter the Leaning Tower, and if you need a wheelchair-accessible van, let the operator know at booking so they can arrange one.
