The experience

The class runs about two and a half hours in one of two locations in the Bellagio area (Tremezzo for dinner or Menaggio for lunch), and you'll work with a guide who teaches you how to make pasta the way Italian grandmothers do. The ingredients come from local producers, so you're working with what the region actually uses. You'll shape and cut the pasta yourself, then move straight to the table to eat what you've just made, family-style, with the people in your group.

What you eat is what you prepared: fresh pasta, a glass of local wine, and coffee or tea afterward. The guide speaks English, Spanish or Italian, and the class welcomes vegetarians. Just let the operator know when you book. Infants can come in a pram, and service animals are allowed. Public transport stops nearby if you're not driving.
