The experience

The route covers 6km of open water along one of Sicily's least developed stretches of coast. You'll paddle past Torre Salsa itself, a protected reserve where the guide points out local flora and fauna as you move. The 2.5-hour outing includes a short on-water lesson at the beginning (the operator says learning is straightforward), so you don't need prior experience. A certified instructor travels with you throughout, either in your kayak or alongside in another, and offers a small snack during the paddle.

You choose between a single kayak or a two- or three-seat boat before you book, so families or friends can stay together or paddle solo. The reserve itself is managed by WWF and sits inside a protected zone, which is why the coast here stays wild: no development, no crowds, just the water and the cliffs. The operator provides all equipment and takes photographs during the outing, then sends them to you afterward. There's a changing room at the start point.
