The experience

The tour splits into two parts: a road journey along the coast in the open-air Fiat 500, then a boat passage back toward Positano as the sun sets. The vintage car is not for rent. A professional driver handles it while you sit back and take in the switchbacks and sea views from Ravello down through Amalfi, Atrani, Maiori and Minori. Stops at Praiano and other villages give you time to find handmade sandals and linen pieces that fit the glamorous-casual look the itinerary is built around.

The boat portion boards a traditional Gozzo Sorrentino, a wooden fishing boat that carries you past the Islands of the Gauls and along the water where the cliffs rise sheer. Snorkeling gear is on board if you want to go in. Prosecco and snacks come with the ride. The boat returns you to Positano as evening falls, and you can order an aperitif to sip while the light changes on the water.
