The Experience

You leave Trapani port in the morning and spend 30 minutes on the boat reaching Favignana, where the skipper points out the small islands and their history as you cross. The afternoon takes you to Levanzo, starting at Cala Dogana, the main port where sailboats and fishermen work. You continue to Cala Fredda, a small beach tucked between limestone cliffs with calm water for snorkeling and a history of freshwater springs that supplied sailors for centuries. A light refreshment—fresh seasonal fruit and a glass of cantaloupe liqueur—comes next on board. The final stop is Cala Minnola, a pebble and sand beach where the seabed invites snorkeling and the cove itself was an anchorage for Phoenicians, Greeks and Romans. The boat returns to Trapani as the day ends.
