Sunset boat tour with swim and aperitif

  • Depart on boat at sunset
  • Sail to Straccoligno and Calanova beaches
  • Swim at sunset
  • Anchor near Straccoligno beach
  • Enjoy aperitif on board

The experience

The boat is an 11-meter Sorrento gozzo, a traditional wooden fishing vessel outfitted for comfort. You depart around 6 pm and sail toward the Straccoligno and Calanova beaches on Elba's east side, stopping to swim at sunset before the light goes. The water and the coves are the point here. You're not moving between landmarks but anchoring in the places that matter.

Once anchored, the aperitif comes aboard: local wines, beers, and snacks built around regional products from land and sea. Cheeses, cured meats, olives, seafood. The timing is deliberate. You eat and drink as the sun sets over the water. If you want sushi instead, that's arranged separately through the Sushi Bar Ancora Uno in Porto Azzurro and quoted when you book.

The tour wraps after sunset, around 9 pm (8 pm from September 1st). A guide speaks English or Italian throughout. The boat operates year-round, and the experience suits all fitness levels, though seasickness can be a factor if the water is rough.

Is this one for you?The boat stays on the water for the full three hours, so comfort with being at sea matters. If you're prone to seasickness, this one won't work. For everyone else, the private boat and the timing around sunset are what make the aperitif on deck the whole point instead of a stop on a longer itinerary.
