The experience
You're staying in Cortina and want to ski beyond the main resort without arranging transport or hiring a guide separately. The Super 8 tour solves that: a driver picks you up from your hotel, takes you to the Lagazuoi area, and you ski the circuit with a local guide who knows the passes, the snow conditions and the history of the peaks around you. A photographer travels with the group to capture the day. The whole thing runs six hours, which means you're back with time to rest before dinner.
The route itself is the draw. You move through the Lagazuoi-5 Torri zone, skiing under eight of the Dolomites' most recognizable summits: Tofana, Pelmo, Civetta, Marmolada, Fanes, Averau, 5 Torri and Conturines. The guide points out the ridges and trenches from World War I, when this landscape was a front line. The mountains still carry that history in their faces. You're not climbing or hiking. You're skiing linked runs that let you see the peaks from different angles as you move through the terrain. The guide sets the pace and chooses the lines based on conditions and the group's ability.
You'll need at least a moderate level of fitness and solid skiing ability to handle the descents and the day's length. Children must be with an adult. If you're renting skis, you can book the tour with equipment included, or bring your own. The ski pass is separate. You buy it when you arrive. Hotel pickup and drop-off are part of the booking, so you don't need to arrange a taxi or figure out the cable car schedule on your own.
