Chianti Hot Air Balloon Flight: Renaissance Villas View
You see Renaissance villas and medieval castles from directly overhead, not from a hillside.
A hot air balloon flight over Chianti, Siena or San Gimignano lets you choose which Tuscan landscape to see from above: rolling vineyards, olive groves, Renaissance villas and historic towns. The pilot flies the balloon. You watch the countryside unfold beneath you. After landing, a light breakfast with local products ends the morning. The experience lasts about 4 hours total, and you pick your departure time at booking.

Step-by-step itinerary
Hot air balloon flight over Tuscany
- Take off in hot air balloon
- Fly over Chianti and Siena landscapes
- Observe Renaissance villas and historic towns
- Admire views of Siena, San Gimignano, and Colle Val d’Elsa
- Land safely
- Enjoy light breakfast with local products
The experience
You choose one of three flight routes when you book: Chianti for its rolling hills and vineyards, Siena for the Cathedral and Piazza del Campo, or San Gimignano for its medieval towers and Vernaccia vineyards. The balloon carries you high enough to see the landscape whole: forests, olive groves, Renaissance villas, and towns like Poggibonsi and Colle Val d'Elsa spread across the terrain below. A live guide in English or Italian flies the balloon and points out what you're seeing as you drift.
The flight itself is the activity. You're not hiking or climbing or learning a skill. You stand in the basket, watch the ground recede, and follow the guide's narration of what passes underneath. The time you select at booking is indicative and may shift if the weather or wind patterns demand it. The facility will contact you if that happens. After you land, before returning to the meeting point, you sit down to a light breakfast made with local products, a natural way to settle after the flight and talk through what you saw.
