Cefalù boat trip with fishing, snorkeling and lunch
Watch nets come up from the water, then swim and eat what the fisherman caught
A six-hour boat activity in Cefalù where you watch a fisherman retrieve and sort nets, learn about traditional fishing, snorkel in Santa Lucia bay with provided equipment, and eat lunch on board. The boat Melissa carries up to ten travelers, with a skipper and guide speaking English or Italian, departing at 8:30am and returning around 2:30pm.
The experience
The boat leaves at 8:30am and heads to the fishing grounds where the real work begins. You'll watch the fisherman recover nets left in the water the previous day, see how he sorts and cleans the catch, and hear the stories behind the techniques: the part of fishing most tourists never witness. This is not a narrated tour. You're standing on deck while someone who does this every day shows you how it actually works.
After the nets come up, the boat stops in the bay of Santa Lucia for a break of about two and a half hours. Snorkeling equipment is provided, and the water there is clear enough to use it. You can swim, float, or sit on deck. The timing is yours. Lunch happens on board: bruschetta, a pasta course made with fresh fish, fried catch of the day, and a drink. Everything is included in the price.
The boat returns to the port of departure around 2:30pm after roughly six hours on the water. Groups stay under ten travelers, so there's room to move around the deck without crowding. The experience only runs in good weather. If conditions turn, you can rebook for another date or get a full refund.
