Step-by-step itinerary

The experience
Getting into the Borghese Gallery without a reservation means standing in a line that can swallow an afternoon. This ticket cuts that out: you arrive, meet your coordinator in the blue and white uniform at the base of the steps on the right side of the building, collect your entry pass, and walk straight in. The gallery holds one of Rome's richest private art collections: Bernini's marble sculptures (Apollo and Daphne, David), Caravaggio's paintings (David with the Head of Goliath, Boy with a Basket of Fruit), Canova's Pauline Bonaparte, Raphael's Deposition and Lady with a Unicorn, and works by Titian. You move through the rooms on your own schedule.
The audio guide comes as an app on your phone: download it via the QR code the coordinator gives you, and bring your own headphones. It walks you through the highlights room by room, so you're not guessing which painting matters or why. If you'd rather have someone talk you through it live, you can add a guided tour option at checkout. The guide speaks English and covers the same masterworks but keeps the group moving through the collection together. Either way, the visit runs 2 to 3 hours depending on how long you linger. The gardens of Villa Borghese Pinciana are included, and from there you get a view over the Piazza del Popolo.
