The experience

The boat leaves La Spezia and heads toward Portovenere, where you'll see the village and the church of San Pietro rising above the water, then pass through the narrow channel called the Bocche between Portovenere and Palmaria island. From there the route moves to Le Rosse, a remote cove with no road access. The only way in is by boat. You stop here to swim and snorkel in clear water surrounded by unspoiled rock and coastline.

The tour then visits the five villages of the 5 Terre in sequence: short photo stops at each one let you see them from the water and capture the stacked houses and terraced cliffs without the crowds that fill the hiking trails. Vernazzo, the fourth village, gets a named stop. The final village is Monterosso, where the boat arrives around lunchtime and you can go ashore to eat in town and walk around, or stay on board.

A live guide speaks English or Italian throughout. Snorkelling equipment is on board and ready to use. The boat carries drinks, beer, soda and bottled water. WiFi is available if you need it.
