The experience

You arrive at Lamezia airport or the train station and get picked up for the retreat. The three days center on hands-on bonsai training with Roberto Liccardo, an award-winning instructor who teaches tree selection, pruning, wiring and other core techniques. Between workshop sessions, guided tours take you through Calabria's scenic landscapes and natural parks: the source of design ideas bonsai artists draw from. Breakfast, lunch, dinner and coffee are provided each day, along with all the tools and materials you need to work.
