A two-hour guided tasting tour through Westport's independent bakeries, ice-cream shops and cafes, led by a local guide who introduces you to multi-generation makers and their handmade sweets. The tour includes tastings of handmade Irish ice-cream, freshly baked buns, wild Westport honey, salted chocolate, truffles and fudge. Private tours are available on request. The experience

You'll walk through Westport tasting your way through the town's sweetest stops. The guide takes you to shops run by 5th generation bakers and 4th generation ice-cream makers: people whose families have been doing this for decades. Each business is independently owned and makes everything by hand using local ingredients. You'll taste handmade Irish ice-cream, freshly baked buns, wild Westport honey, salted chocolate, Irish chocolate truffles and West of Ireland fudge as the guide explains what makes each one special and why these small producers matter to the town.

The tour runs two hours and stays on foot through Westport's town center. A licensed guide leads the whole thing in English, pointing out the craft behind each sweet treat and the story of the people making them. If you're traveling without a car or staying in town without transport, you can book a private tour option that includes pickup, or the town's public transportation gets you to the starting point.
