The experience

The RIB boat leaves from Dingle and heads straight out along the coastline, where the captain brings the cliffs and geology to life. You'll pass towering rock formations and sea caves that are only visible from the water, and reach the Blasket Islands: the landscape most visitors see only from the shore. The boat's speed and maneuverability let it get close to details the bigger tour boats miss, and the small group of 12 means you're not competing for space or the captain's attention.

Wildlife sightings depend on the season. April through August brings puffins. Year-round you might see great seals hauled out on rocks, dolphins moving through the bay, and occasionally minke whales. Red deer sometimes appear along the cliffs. The captain knows the waters. The company was founded in 2018 by Jimmy Flannery, a lifelong Dingle man who spent 37 years on these waters before starting the business. Waterproof jackets, waterproof pants and life jackets are all provided, so you don't need to bring your own gear. The tour runs 3 hours and combines the adrenaline of a fast boat with the natural history of the peninsula. It's often the highlight of a Dingle visit.
